Scotty Bergstein

Scotty landed his first break as Ridley Scott’s assistant on the movie “Thelma and Louise”, following which he worked on hundreds of commercials for RSA-USA, eventually as a production designer. Success as a director came with a spec for ESPN in 1999, and in the succeeding years he has directed numerous award-winning spots. Scotty has combined his design background with his interesting take on characters and human relationships to develop an off-kilter brand of storytelling. As Scotty puts it, “I mean, come on, I grew up as a carny*. I see the world in an odd way.” • American slang for a carnival employee.
